DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for administrative and legal clerical support within the Office of Chief Counsel's Workers' Compensation Division. You will be responsible for typing, formatting, revising, and proofreading legal documents such as pleadings, petitions, appeals, liens, writs of execution, and similar legal filings, as well as general correspondence prepared by division attorneys and support staff. You will compile, organize, and record information in addition to updating and maintaining logs and case files. In this position, you will be communicating directly with the court, counsel, clients, and others to obtain or relay information.

In this role, you may perform other clerical support duties, such as handling mail, answering the telephone, scanning files, faxing, using a copy machine, maintaining a calendar, and managing office equipment. Take your clerical skills to the next level with our team!

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to (1) day a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please note, selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $39,003.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of responsible clerical, enforcement or investigative work; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
