The Program Manager will support key projects and programs within the Genentech Research & Early Development (gRED) Computational Sciences (gCS) organization. This role will encompass a comprehensive range of responsibilities related to the successful execution of key departmental priorities and collaborations.

The Opportunity:

  • Shares responsibilities in P&O and CB&T to help drive key projects and programs.

  • Assists in support to Foundational AI and Clinical Research efforts within gCS.

  • Provides management for new and emerging projects and programs that are of key importance to the gCS department and their priorities.

  • Assist in the development of supporting business processes that allow for successful execution of gCS priorities.

  • Develops relationships with Business Development and Alliance Management to ensure successful hand-off and management of key collaborations in the gCS portfolio.

  • Act as a program management liaison to the gCS organization. Participate in the creation of a Community of Practice for gCS Program Management.

  • Drive a sense of urgency in execution of key projects and programs. Report out on status and appropriately escalate risks and issues as they arise.

  • Key Subject Matter Expert for the gCS Portfolio. Act as a key thought partner in the development, deployment, and refinement of the portfolio and supporting processes.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher and experience in Computational Science, Machine Learning and/or AI is a plus. Business or project management coursework or additional supportive training desired (e.g. PMP, Six Sigma, Lean, Design Thinking, Agile methodology, etc.).

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in a related field.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation skills.

  • Strong project management skills, very organized and adapts quickly to rapidly changing business demands.

  • Self-starter, ability to work with minimum or no supervision and takes initiative to solve a wide range of difficult problems in creative ways.

  • Adept at fostering positive, transparent and productive relationships and has proven ability to challenge and propose solutions for current business processes.

  • Proficient with skills in one or more of the following core program management areas:

    • Strategic planning

    • Project & Program management

    • Risk management

    • Communication planning and team management

    • Cross-functional collaboration

    • Change management

Relocation benefits are available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $138,500 - $257,300 of hiring range. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
