What you will be doing

The payroll clerk is responsible for assisting in the preparation of payroll, and various other clerical duties within the payroll department for a specific group or groups of Cencora associates.

Location: (Hybrid) 2 days on-site; 3 days remote

  • Performs all clerical duties including by not limited to opening and distribution of mail, creating and maintaining reports for Payroll Manager.
  • Assists the Payroll Coordinators with inputting data into the payroll system.
  • Assists with payroll audits to ensure accuracy in payroll processing.
  • Answers questions and researches payroll issues reported by ABC associates via email or phone.
  • Prepares manual check and pay card calculations that are handled outside of the regular payroll cycle; maintains proper documentation.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high-degree of confidentiality relative to personal data, salary data and associate benefits information maintained in the HRIS system.
  • Researches issues and promptly resolves associate requests and inquiries.
  • Interacts closely with other departments within Human Resources in order to complete necessary paperwork required for payroll processing.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Requires a high school education or equivalent and one (1) to two (2) years of payroll experience.

What your background should look like

  • Good understanding of payroll processing software programs, preferably Workday but not required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills Adept at handling sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to details and team player.
  • Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
