Summary of Objective:

The Logistics Control Specialist role is responsible for the traffic of cold chain and ambient pallets between our Philadelphia facility and approved offsites within a cGMP environment. This position ensures that operational goals and objectives of the team are accomplished within prescribed time frames and helps drive project success to provide PCI a competitive advantage in long-term customer management by ensuring timely arrival of components and finished goods for production. The successful logistics coordinator will be overseeing the entire Philadelphia external logistics network to ensure the correct balance between ensuring high service levels and reducing costs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

Compiles carrier and route assignments. Conduct and optimize cold chain and ambient logistics to offsite warehouse locations. Tracks, traces, and updates the status of shipments. Maintains daily shipment schedule for trucks and warehouses Communicate with suppliers, BU, scheduling team, warehousing team, and production team to achieve high service level of material when needed. Maintain logs and records of warehouse stock at offsite locations and executed orders. Maintain monthly reports relating to inventory status and balances at offsite warehouses. Arrange same-day deliveries whenever needed / possible. Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor. Provides inventory reports to purchasing and inventory control manager. Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made. Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory. Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits. Successfully completes all assigned trainings. Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments. Participates in continuous improvement training and training others. This position may require overtime and/or weekend work. Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules . Attendance to work is an essential function of this position

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the stated position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Required:

  • Bacheor's Degree in a related field and/or 7-10 years related experience and/or training.
  • College Level Mathematical Skills
  • Experience processing shipments using UPS and FedEx software.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations and ISO requirements
  • Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP
  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.
  • Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.
  • High Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions that may be provided in various forms.
  • High Standard of Report Writing

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of 49 CFR, 15 CFR, Department of Transportation (DOT), International Air Transport Association (IATA), and International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) regulations preferred.
  • Prior global shipping management/customs clearance experience is highly desirable. Experience with JDE ERP highly desirable.
